Florida Estate Planning attorney Katherine BarskiTHE VILLAGES – Check your mailboxes!  If you live in The Villages, you’ll spot the now-familiar face of Estate Planning attorney Katherine Barski in this month’s edition of The Villages Neighbors!  This time around, Ms. Barski is lending her experience to the magazine’s Contributing Voices section with “Why Aren’t You a Florida Resident Yet?”

Even if you’ve decided to trade the snow shovel for the sun screen, you may still be holding onto your previous state’s residency status for one reason or another.  Knowing this is not uncommon, Ms. Barski covers some of the many benefits of becoming a Florida resident and lists off several simple ways to show your intent to become the Sunshine State’s newest resident.

Ms. Barksi remarks –

One easy step is to execute and record a Declaration of Domicile in the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County of his or her Florida residence. A new Florida domiciliary should also register to vote in Florida and actually vote.

Even if you have changed your state or residency already, Katherine Barski notes some benefits of being a Florida resident that you may not be taking advantage of!

Keep your eyes peeled for the latest issue, ladies & gentlemen!
