Biography
Matthew S. Boomershine is a Partner and Managing Attorney of the Criminal Defense Division at Bogin, Munns & Munns. He represents clients throughout Central Florida in a wide range of criminal defense matters. His practice focuses on defending individuals facing serious charges, including DUI, drug offenses, violent crimes, theft, and other felony and misdemeanor cases.
Matthew is known for strong courtroom advocacy and a deep commitment to protecting the rights of the accused. He is especially driven to defend individuals who have been wrongfully accused. He understands the serious impact criminal charges can have on a person’s future, reputation, and freedom. His approach combines strategic defense with clear and consistent communication. As a result, clients understand their rights, options, and the legal process at every stage of their case.
Before joining Bogin, Munns & Munns, Matthew served as an Assistant Public Defender for Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit. There, he handled a high volume of criminal cases and gained extensive courtroom experience. This background helps him navigate the criminal justice system effectively. It also allows him to anticipate prosecutorial strategies and build strong, proactive defenses.
As Managing Attorney, Matthew leads the firm’s criminal defense practice. He oversees case strategy, mentors attorneys, and maintains a high standard of representation across the division. In addition, he focuses on delivering aggressive and results-driven defense while maintaining a client-centered approach.
Beyond his legal work, Matthew has a passion for education and communication. He previously worked as an LSAT instructor with Kaplan Test Prep. This experience reflects his ability to simplify complex legal concepts. It also helps him guide clients through difficult situations with clarity and confidence.
Outside the office, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also plays guitar and performs in a local Orlando cover band, “Boomershine.”
