Matthew S. Boomershine

Biography

Matthew S. Boomershine is a Partner and Managing Attorney of the Criminal Defense Division at Bogin, Munns & Munns, representing clients throughout Central Florida in a wide range of criminal defense matters. He focuses on defending individuals facing serious charges, including DUI, drug offenses, violent crimes, theft, and other felony and misdemeanor cases.

Matthew is known for his strong courtroom advocacy and his commitment to protecting the rights of the accused. He is particularly driven by the opportunity to defend individuals who have been wrongfully accused, recognizing the life-changing impact that criminal charges can have on a person’s future, reputation, and freedom. His approach combines strategic defense with clear, consistent communication—ensuring that clients fully understand their rights, options, and the legal process at every stage of their case.

Before joining Bogin, Munns & Munns, Matthew served as an Assistant Public Defender for Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit, where he gained extensive courtroom experience handling a high volume of criminal cases. This background allows him to effectively navigate the criminal justice system, anticipate prosecutorial strategies, and build strong, proactive defenses for his clients.

As Managing Attorney, Matthew leads the firm’s criminal defense practice, overseeing case strategy, mentoring attorneys, and ensuring a high standard of representation across the division. He is committed to delivering aggressive, results-driven defense while maintaining a client-focused approach.

In addition to his legal work, Matthew has a passion for education and communication. He is a former LSAT instructor with Kaplan Test Prep, reflecting his ability to break down complex legal concepts and guide clients through challenging situations with clarity and confidence.

Outside of the office, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also plays guitar and performs in a local Orlando cover band, “Boomershine.”
