Biography
B.F. “Biff” Godfrey is a business, corporate, and real estate attorney at Bogin, Munns & Munns. He represents commercial clients throughout Orlando, Clermont, Kissimmee, Melbourne, Orange City, and surrounding Central Florida communities. His practice focuses on corporate law, contracts, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, intellectual property, and commercial business matters.
Biff brings more than 40 years of legal experience to his practice. Throughout his career, he has advised businesses on complex transactional and operational issues. He works closely with clients to structure, negotiate, and draft agreements. These agreements support business growth while reducing legal risk.
Over time, Biff has developed deep experience in contract law, corporate governance, real estate transactions, and franchising systems. He also handles intellectual property matters, including trademarks and licensing. In addition, his work spans both domestic and international operations. As a result, he offers a broad perspective on commercial legal strategy.
Before joining Bogin, Munns & Munns, Biff served as corporate counsel for several major national companies. These included Zale Corporation, TGI Fridays Inc., and Darden Restaurants, Inc. In those roles, he oversaw commercial and retail leasing, real estate transactions, and franchising operations. He also managed licensing agreements, trademark protection, and purchasing strategies.
This in-house experience gives Biff a strong understanding of how businesses operate internally. It also helps him evaluate how legal decisions affect daily operations and long-term strategy. Because of this background, he provides practical and business-focused legal guidance.
Biff earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Notre Dame. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law. He joined the Texas Bar in 1974 and the Florida Bar in 1994.
Clients know Biff for his client-centered approach. He focuses on understanding each business’s goals and tailoring legal solutions accordingly. In addition, he values long-term professional relationships and works with a diverse range of clients and industries.
Outside of his legal practice, Biff credits his uncle, who was also an attorney, for inspiring his legal career. He supports the YMCA and enjoys attending live theater in his free time.
