Orlando Motorcycle Accidents Attorneys
Work with an Experienced Attorney if you are injured in a Motorcycle Accident
If you are involved in an Florida motorcycle accident, you have specific legal rights. Since 1979, the attorneys at Bogin, Munns & Munns have helped motorcycle accident victims receive the compensation they deserve.
Motorcyclists are often unintentionally hidden in the blind spots of car, truck and van drivers. As a result, simple lane changes can take a terrible turn for the worse by leading to wrecks, catastrophic brain injuries, and even death for motorcyclists. Alcohol impairment and poor weather conditions, including strong wind gusts and heavy rain, also contribute to two and three-wheeled vehicle accidents. Statistics have shown that they may possibly play a bigger part for motorcycles than other motor vehicles.
If you are ever in a motorcycle accident, be sure to take these precautions:
- Take pictures & photographs of the damage to the vehicles and cycles
- Do not sign any documents without having an attorney review the documents first
- Do not discuss any matters concerning your injuries with the at-fault insurance company
At Bogin, Munns & Munns, we are dedicated to helping motorcycle accident victims recover fair compensation under the law.

Frequently Asked Questions
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the majority of multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes happen because motorcyclists are not seen by other drivers. Crashes can result in a variety of injuries and, less frequently, death. With respect to fatalities, recent evidence suggests some good news for motorcyclists – at least according to Motorcyclist Fatalities by State: 2017 Preliminary Data, a Governors’ Highway Safety Association’s report. Although the number of motorcycle deaths in 2017 remained high – almost 5,000 fatalities nationwide – the actual number of deaths indicated a decrease of over 5% from 2016. In Florida, the number of fatalities decreased from 574 in 2016 to 504 from 2016 to 2017, a decrease of more than 12% or, stated another way, an increase of 70 lives. The report also listed the following other factors that contribute to motorcycle accidents: speed, weather, alcohol and drug use by motorcyclists (and consequent impairment), distracted driving, and the aging motorcycle riding population.
Motorcycle accidents can result in any number of wide-ranging injuries, and even death. According to an article published in the National Law Review, data collected by the CDC has indicated that, in order of frequency, motorcyclists involved in non-fatal accidents and crashes sustain injuries to their feet or legs, neck and head; chest, back, or shoulders; hands and arms; and pelvis and hips. Crashes that lead to injuries occur more frequently than crashes that lead to death. In 2013, for example, 88,000 motorcyclists were injured in crashes; 4,668 were killed. Nevertheless, traffic accidents that lead to death are 28 times more likely to occur in the case of motorcyclists as compared to passenger vehicle occupants. According to Motorcyclist Fatalities by State: 2017 Preliminary Data, a Governors’ Highway Safety Association’s report, motorcyclists make up approximately 14% of total motor vehicle-related deaths nationwide.
According to USA Today, Florida has the second highest number of motorcycles registered for use in the United States. Florida is unusual in that while motorcycle insurance is required in most states, Florida generally does not require its registered motorcyclists to obtain insurance coverage. An exception to the no-insurance-required rule applies to certain Florida motorcyclists who are involved in crashes or who are charged with moving violations. Additionally, young riders or riders who do not have at least $10,000 of medical insurance must wear helmets under Florida law. Despite the foregoing rules, not having motorcycle insurance in Florida is risky, and can be disastrous if you are involved in an accident. If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, or if you have questions about your potential liability in a motorcycle accident case, you should consult an experienced Florida motorcycle accident attorney.
