I enjoy helping people. I learned at a young age that when people are in crisis, or a problem seems too big to solve, then that’s when the lawyers are called. This world can be hard to navigate, so there is little I enjoy more than assisting someone through their time of crisis. My favorite thing about practicing law is meeting new people and hearing their stories, whether they be clients, colleagues, or other members of the community. I also enjoy learning, overcoming new obstacles, and finding inventive ways to solve problems.
I spent most of my childhood in the Orlando, Florida area, but I have also lived in the Philippines, Utah, Arizona, and Missouri. For the last eight years, I have lived in and become a part of the Gainesville, Florida community. My family and I love to visit the local nature trails, springs, and parks. We are huge fans of Florida Gator sports, and the Dallas Cowboys. I played sports most of my life, including playing three years of Varsity football for Wekiva High School. Through sports, I learned to “play to the whistle,” and to lead others during the heat of the moment. I still enjoy exercise, whether it be playing pick-up basketball, working out, or attempting to play golf.
While completing my undergraduate degree through the University of Florida online program, I worked full-time as a Route Sales Representative to support my family. I was initially brought in as a temporary contractor, but I worked my way into eventually becoming the National Trainer for new sales reps. I worked throughout the country with corporate representatives and local franchise owners to developed new sales and service routes, including in over twenty different states. It was a pleasure to watch the sales reps that I trained go on to become regional managers and to train their own teams of reps. My favorite part of the job was operating trade shows nationally, including operating a booth at the 7-Eleven Experience at the MGM Grand—Las Vegas. I carry my experience of working with a wide variety of people into my work as an attorney.
I am passionate about criminal justice reform. Before attending law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, I earned my B.A. in Criminology from the University of Florida. During law school, I worked in Family Law, and Property Law in my first legal internship in Jacksonville. Later in law school, I had the opportunity to practice law through the Certified Legal Intern (CLI) program under Chapter 11- Rules Governing the Law School Practice Program of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. As a CLI for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida Office of the Public Defender, I represented criminal defendants through the life of their case, including, going to trial, and advocating in various court appearances. As a member of the University of Florida Trial Team, I was part of a team that swept every ballot on our way to wining the 2019 Federal White Collar Crime Invitational at Georgetown. I finished law school as a law clerk for Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A., and I am now a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division.
My biggest strength as an attorney is my tenacity. If the cause is just, then I will fight to the end. I have no problem being the believer who just “won’t go away.”
