2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Commercial Litigation
My greatest strength as an attorney is my determination. I set goals for everything in my life, including every legal matter upon which I am privileged to work, and do everything in my power to achieve those goals as quickly as possible.
I love helping clients solve their problems and delivering a successful result to a client. As the Palm Bay City Attorney, I thoroughly enjoyed public service, working hard each and every single day proudly saving my taxpaying constituents nearly $8 million in just 6 years.
I started my legal career clerking for Justice Peggy A. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court in 2003. In 2005, I moved to Orlando where I worked in private practice for one of the largest law firms in the world. I left that firm to join a litigation boutique also located in Orlando to handle intellectual property litigation. In November 2008, I moved with my wife and three children to Brevard County where I worked in the Palm Bay City Attorney’s Office for nearly 10 years, serving as the City Attorney for 7 of those years.
I was born in LaSalle, Illinois and grew up in neighboring Peru, Illinois until I was 9. My mother, my sister and I moved to Boston after my parents divorced where I was privileged to attend the same elementary and junior high school John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy attended. I stayed in Massachusetts for education from 4th grade through college graduation. After graduating from college, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I lived for 4 years and met my wife who also worked for BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Corporation. I went to Washington, D.C. for law school but thankfully moved permanently to Florida after being honored with a clerkship opportunity for Justice Peggy A. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court. Florida is the greatest place to live in the world, and I shall never leave.
I did not go to law school right after college. Rather, I spent 4 years working, the latter 3 of which were spent selling advertising for BellSouth Advertising & Publishing Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. If I did not go to law school, I would still be selling advertising for BellSouth in Atlanta. It was a great job in a spectacular city, and I only left to pursue my passion for the law.
My great grandfather started a law firm in Central Illinois where my father still works to this day after he retired from the bench. My aunt and first cousin were also attorneys. While spending years at my father’s law firm observing lawyers handling different practice areas, I acquired a love of the law and went to law school to become a wills, trusts and estates lawyer like one of my father’s partners whom I admired. While I did extremely well in that class in law school, I frankly did not enjoy that practice area. Ironically, I thoroughly enjoyed litigation, the practice area in which all four aforementioned members of my family practiced, so I guess it is in my blood. I have never looked back. I love it.
I am passionate about helping the homeless. As a devout Catholic, I see no reason why any of my fellow man should ever have to live in such conditions and will spend all of the rest of my days in this life doing whatever I can to combat this pervasive problem in our great country.
